DEATH NOTE AND OTHER STORIES is not like any other collection. The first story "Crazy Mother-In-Law" is a look through a daughter-in-law's eyes on the day of her baby announcement. She has regular family issues with her husband's mother until she feels like she's staring into the eyes of the devil. Her mother-in-law goes on a tangent that no one in their family sees coming.
"Haunted Truck' tells the story of an 18-year-old man who is gifted a used old truck from his father. The truck scares the living day light out of him so much that it makes him realize that he isn't ready for adulthood like he thought. The truck does things that regular cars aren't supposed to do.
"Death Note" is a haiku describing the thoughts before suicide. Though short, it speaks volumes with the emotions shown in a few lines.
